Singapore Budget 2021 – Summary of the Key Changes

The Singapore Budget 2021 was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance on 16 February 2021 with a commitment to shift gears from the 2020 emergency COVID-19 containment measures to restructuring and accelerating Singapore economy.

The Government has announced a multitude of new and enhanced measures focusing on supporting businesses to innovate, source capital and harness potential in the region, in addition to measures for the Singapore workforce to deepen skills and widen employability and build a more sustainable and cohesive society.

More in detail, the Singapore Budget focuses on the following cornerstones:

Relief from Recovery: to address the needs to safe guard public health and re-open safely, to support workers and businesses and to support sectors that are still under stress
Skilled Workers and Innovative Business: to build new capabilities for workers and businesses
Fiscal Strategy: to support the strategic investment for growth and press on with the economic transformation
