As part of the regular reviews of the border measures, the Singapore Multi Ministry Taskforce and the Ministry Of Health have updated the country risk classification and the border measures.
Extended Vaccinated Travel Lanes
Earlier in September 2021, Singapore launched the Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTLs). Under certain criteria, travellers under the VTLs, would no longer serve the Stay Home Notice provided a regular testing regime.
Starting from 29 November 2021, the Singapore government will extend the Vaccinated Travel Lane to Finland, Malaysia and Sweden.
The active VTL Countries are: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherland, Spain, Switzerland, UK, US and, from 15 November, Republic of Korea.
Review of Countries Categories
Effective from 12 November 2021:
- the following countries will be placed in Category II: Cambodia, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Maldives, Qatar, Rwanda, Samoa, South Africa, Tonga, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Vietnam;
- the following countries will be placed in Category III: Argentina, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Kuwait, Laos, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Ukraine
Changes in Testing Regime
From 12 November 2021, a negative professionally administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) it will be recognised as a valid pre-departure test for all travellers arriving in or transiting through Singapore from Category II/III countries (including travellers via the Vaccinated Travel Lane – VTL).
For avoidance of doubt, such travellers will still be allowed to present a negative PCR test result as valid pre-departure test.
All pre-departure test must continue to fulfil the following requirements:
- Taken within 2 days prior to departure for Singapore;
- Test result memo must state: (i) Negative test result in English; (ii) Date in which the test was taken; (iii) Traveller/s name and either Date of Birth or Passport Number as stated in the passport.
